We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for England as a framework and a Reggio Emilia inspired approach which embraces inquiry-based learning.

The 3 prime areas of learning are

-Communication and Language

-Personal, Social and Emotional Development

-Physical Development

These are supported by 4 specific areas

-Literacy

-Maths

-Understanding the World

-Expressive Arts and Design

Our teachers typically hold CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator and / or NVQ qualifications. 

CACHE stands for Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education. It is the UK’s leading provider of vocational qualifications for those working in the care and education sectors.

NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification. Each qualification level involves the teaching and application of particular work-based competencies

Children construct their own understanding of the world. Step by Step teachers are trained to first identify a child’s level of understanding along with their readiness to learn, and then deliver the curriculum in a way that best suits the child’s learning style

Every staff member has a responsibility to keep your child safe and secure whilst at the nursery.  Our teachers and teaching assistants are directly responsible for your child’s welfare inside the classrooms and outdoor playground

All Step by Step staff are able to assist children with nappy changes and toilet independence.

Our educators are responsible for preparing meals, feeding the children, and ensuring that they are eating healthy and nutritious food. Our staff are trained in spoon-feeding and self feeding techniques.

For children aged less than 2 years, an afternoon nap is encouraged after lunchtime. For children aged 2 years and above, a rest period is strongly recommended after lunch. 

We recognise parents’ knowledge of their child with regards to sleep routines and we will, where possible, work together to ensure each child’s individual sleep routines and adhered to.

For children below the age of 2 years, we do not use devices in our setting. For nursery and Foundation children, devices such as IPAD’s are permitted for the purpose of research as part of our project work. For example, children may watch documentary style videos online to understand different homes around the world.

We use Arabee which is an online Arabic Learning Platform and Educore which is an education management system

We ensure the technology we use adheres to the strictest levels of data privacy and security.  If and when children are using technology we ensure adult supervision at all times

Our Nurses and clinics are regulated by the Dubai Health Authority and the municipality to ensure that all requirements are met. If a child becomes unwell during the course of the day, the child will be kept comfortable in the clinic until a parent or carer is able to collect

For the safety of our children, our extensive CCTV coverage runs throughout the premises. This includes classrooms, the outdoor area, the reception area and all entrances and exits. All CCTV footage is displayed in the Nursery Managers office at all times.

We offer later pickups for working parents, allowing your child to be cared for until 5.30pm.  We also have school buses at our Dubailand and Mirdif branches.  For any additional requirements regarding pick up or drop off, the Nursery Managers at each branch will be able to give you more details.
