Bus Service
Step by Step Nursery offers a safe and secure bus service for children aged 2 years and upwards. We work in partnership with our school transport provider to ensure that the highest standards of safety and security are met at all times. Safety features include three point booster seats for all children, female bus attendants who are RTA and First Aid qualified and robust registration policies and procedures.
Meals
Step by Step Nursery is committed to a Healthy Eating Policy and works in partnership with our catering provider to offer a well balanced meal plan daily. The meal plan consists of a morning snack, followed by a hot lunch and an afternoon snack and is individually packed to encourage independence and to keep food safe and healthy. Research shows us that children are more likely to try new foods, flavours and textures when encouraged by their peers. The meal plan can accommodate a range of dietary requirements to suit children’s individual needs.
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA’s)
At Step by Step we work in partnership with our ECA providers to offer a range of extracurricular classes for children aged 2 years and above including football, gymnastics and dance. We work closely with our partners to quality assure the curriculum on offer and we ensure that a member of the nursery team is always available to support with care routines. Each session lasts approximately 40 minutes with our specialist coaches and follows a 10 week format in terms 1, 2 and 3. Enrolment days take place at the nursery and online during the initial weeks of each new term.
Holiday Programmes
At Step by Step Nursery we know how busy life can be with little ones so we operate holiday programmes for children of all ages (0-4 years) for 11 weeks of the year. During holiday programmes, many aspects of the nursery routine and daily schedule are maintained, making transitions back to nursery after holiday breaks, smooth and efficient. Each week follows a fun and stimulating programme of events where the focus is firmly on play. Previous activities have included splash days, teddy bear picnics, fashion shows, art exhibitions, drama and storytelling, cooking, etc.
Holiday programmes are subject to the minimum number of children registering. Our programmes usually run during the following times:
December – 2 weeks
March / April – 2 weeks
July & August – 7 weeks
