Settling In : How do we support our families?
When searching for a nursery for your little one, we understand how overwhelming it can be to entrust your most precious child with a new caregiver. At Step by Step Nursery, we are committed to making the settling in process as smooth as possible by giving you and your child the time and attention you deserve.
Our experienced and qualified early years educators know that listening to parents and children and keeping families up to date on a child’s wellbeing is hugely important to disperse anxiety and work in partnership. We invite new parents to visit us and hold information days at the start of the year to induct new parents and share key information. If separation anxiety is a concern, we invite children to stay and play for short periods before officially joining us.
Historically, parents have been invited into our rooms each morning to support their child in becoming familiar with the environment. During COVID aware times, our staff share key moments of the day during settling in, in the form of photos and videos, to reassure parents and to discuss strategies.
Once your child forms a safe and secure attachment with our staff, parents will benefit from regular daily updates via our Parent App to see how your child is enjoying their new and exciting environment.
