Health, Safety and Hygiene
Step by Step Nursery uses the National Childcare Standards of the UAE as well as the UK Welfare Standards to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are met at all times.
Safety Measures
The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance to us and so we have in place strict policies and procedures for handwashing, nappy changing and dealing with illness including the management of COVID 19 and the sanitization of the environment. Equipment, furniture and surfaces are sanitized daily by our housekeepers using non-toxic cleaning agents that do not leave any hazardous residue. A systematic approach to health and safety based on daily health and safety checks and risk assessment, reduces risk across the nursery by guiding staff and visitors in our daily practices.
All members of staff receive level 1 training on Child Protection and Safeguarding and as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the nursery manager holds a level 3 Child Protection and Safeguarding certificate. All staff are pediatric first aid trained and are regularly updated on the current procedures for handling incidents and injuries. Policies exist for all emergency procedures including emergency evacuation, lockdown and handling of contagious diseases. Emergency drills take place on a monthly basis.
Our setting Nurse and clinic is regulated by the Dubai Health Authority and the municipality to ensure that all requirements are met. If a child becomes unwell during the course of the day, the child will be kept comfortable in the clinic until a parent or carer is able to collect.
Step by Step Nursery is regulated by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the Dubai Health Authority, the Dubai municipality, the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Labor on a regular basis.
Security Measures
